Still Haven't Found What You're Searching For?

Got a faint, almost forgotten whisper

lodged somewhere in the back of your mind?

Is personal evolution possible?

Is there life (before and/or) after death?

Could THIS Be IT?

AN INVITATION

ICDHHB ~ The International Community for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being ~ invites you to participate in its Second European Convention "INNER WORK" to be held in Barcelona, Spain on the 16, 17 and 18 March, 2001.

WHO IS ICDHHB?

The ICDHHB is a non-denominational, world-wide community dedicated to the practical study and transsion of teachings which have existed since ancient times as methods for the development of the Inner Being, or Soul.

The Community works closely with a living Teacher, E.J. Gold, who has translated these teachings into a contemporary context, seasoning them with a healthy dosage of humour, offering us a set of practical work and tools to be employed in our daily lives.

A number of Gold's senior students, who have worked intimately with him for over 20 years at IDHHB in the USA, will be present at the Convention to lead workshops and discussions.

TRAINING OUR ATTENTION

"No one else will train our attention for us, because it can't be done that way. We are the only ones who can do it. And if we can train our attention, we can do anything; we can literally move mountains. If our attention can be focused, we can do anything that we have ever heard of anyone doing. It is our attention that gives us that power." - E.J. Gold

THE TEACHINGS:

As human beings, we are not-so-complex creatures who seem to have lost the thread of purpose in our lives. We seek fulfilment in outward distractions, and remain empty. It is only when we turn our attention to the matter of realizing our potential for a purpose greater than our personal gratifications, that a sense of peace arrives. Every spiritual school has its own approach to the problem of human unconsciousness and presents a set of practices to bring about awakening. In this school, our efforts are aimed not simply towards awakening, but to awaken and undertake the Great Work for the benefit of All-Beings-Everywhere.

THE WORKSHOPS:

This convention will carry a series of workshops, each of which will present a different tool for self-knowledge within the larger context of the relationship between our essential being and the body/mind/emotions:

Movements:

Classes in the Movement series developed by EJ Gold will be held each day. Assuming these archetypal postures allows us access to higher dimensional chambers and the transitions from one posture to another develop continuity of awareness and sensing in the physical body.

Workshop leaders: Menlo Macfarlane and Scott Wellman.

Practical Work on Self:

In this series of exercises we will find keys which we can use daily to remain alert, and to be mindful that we are alive, now, in this very moment. We can use these exercises to gently overcome our resistances, identifications and habits in a playful manner, while developing more conscious habits which will help us on our paths.

The Pond

"In order to maintain the machine in an awakened state, we must be willing to expend every possible effort to minimize the resulting chaos within the machine whenever it is ravaged by these negative reverberations"* Non-expression of negative emotions is one of the basic tools for work on self. In this session, we'll work with some simple individual and group exercises which can help you develop that skill.

Workshop leaders: David Christie, Eric Feingold

Invocation of Presence and Prayer Absolute:

In this workshop we will explore a method to intentionally invoke transformational influences into our lives, disabling the force of our actions and reactions, and help us to use each moment in its fullest potential for awakening and evolution. Prayer Absolute is an ancient method of prayer offering help to the Absolute in its eternal situation as creator and maintainer of all Creation. To sense the suffering of the Absolute and to wish to help alleviate that suffering is the beginning of real conscience. In this workshop, we will learn a method of Prayer Absolute which can help us repay the debt of our existence.

Workshop leader: Della Heywood.

Journey Through the Bardos:

The Tibetan Buddhists are famous for their focus on the inevitability of death as a means to more deeply appreciate and utilize the gift of life. In this workshop, we will take a journey beginning with our own last moment, a journey through the sights, sounds and sensations of "what comes next". Guiding us on this tour will be readings from the Contemporary book of the Dead, a western interpretation of the classic Tibetan text.

Workshop leaders: Eric Feingold and Romanie Sánchez

Invocational Discourse:

Some ideas may appear simple at first glance, but, when considered deeply, can inspire revelation. A discourse in a spiritual setting is a time-honoured tool to collectively raise the consciousness of the participants and penetrate to richer levels of understanding. Ideas to be discussed will introduced at the workshop.

Discourse will be led by David Christie.

Dungeon Party:

Much of Mr. Gold's work for the past several years has been developing computer games for the simulation of the Bardo experience and the development of Bardo skills. In these sessions, we'll work with the most current games available from E.J., in special group work exercises. The number of computers will be limited to those brought by staff and participants for this purpose, so these will be small group sessions running concurrently with other workshops.

Hosted by David Christie.

Essential Art:

Real art does not come from the subjective personality, but from that part of ourselves which lies closer to our essence. Each one of us is a true artist, and has all the skills necessary to create a work of art which can communicate simply and directly to others. In this workshop we will bypass the 'adult' personality and allow our essential selves to speak, using the tools of art.

Workshop leader: Menlo Macfarlane

Bringing the Woman to Life:

Through the powerful alchemy of attention and adoration, our bodies can be brought to life, and can begin to have a transformative effect on our inner Being. In this workshop, which contains the foundational material from the book "The Human Biological Machine as a Transformational Apparatus" by EJ Gold, we will work with an exercise in which we initiate our own transformational alchemical laboratory, and we will seek to learn more of the relationship between our Being and its vessel, the human biological machine.

Workshop leader: Della Heywood

Bardo Café:

Music, poetry, laughter, performance and ..... well, what would you like to do? It's open mike night at the Bardo Café, and anything goes. The evening will begin with an invocational dinner and readings, and end in the late hours of the night with the Black Valley musical circle. bring your own instrument if you have one!
