Hello,
after some weeks of intense preparations, we, the preparatory committee of IDHHB EuroCon 2000, are finally able to give you more details about the upcoming first Convention of the
Institute for the Development of the Harmonious Human Being in Europe.

Location:

The site of EuroCon2000 is a large house in the beautiful Ibiza countryside. The house is known as the »Yoga Zentrum« – and is located in the scenic North of the Island, in a remote, but easily accessible area. This place will be the location of all convention events: the workshops and seminars, meals and some limited accommodations.

The house is a typical Ibiza farmhouse with all modern conveniences. There are wood burning stoves in almost every room, so we can be sure to stay warm and comfortable during our time together.

The house consists of many small rooms, each one unique, and on different levels, giving you the feeling of a labyrinth. There are several kitchens, one of which will be available for convention participants to prepare tea, store their snacks and water etc.

On-site lodging will be shared, with 2 or 3 people to a room. You might get a bed to sleep on or a mattress on the floor, so if possible, bring a sleeping bag and a mat. The sleeping arrangements will be distributed in such a way as to make you most comfortable, as far as groups staying together, women together, men together, families together etc.

Additional housing is located nearby, and transportation will be available to and from the convention site and local airport/harbour facilities.

All convention participants will share their meals together in the house. There is a kitchen, and the meals will be prepared and served to you by the convention staff. We make a special point of this, since the kitchen is the heart of our temporary working group situation, and our physical nourishment will be treated with special attention accordingly.

What to bring:

We recommend that you bring comfortable clothes, which allow you to breathe and move around freely. The atmosphere will be rather informal, and during the workshops you can expect some light physical movements, like moving around in the chamber. For example: we will offer an introduction into the »movements« (ancient sacred physical postures), and a variety of other single, partner or group exercises.

Since the climate in February in Ibiza is generally pleasant, but can also be wet and cool, we recommend that you bring light clothes, but also a wool sweater, in case it gets a little chilly (after all, we will be in the country). We recommend comfortable walking shoes and perhaps house slippers.

Here is a suggested list of what you might wish to bring:

  • Sleeping bag and mat.
  • Towels and personal toiletries.
  • Comfortable clothes.
  • House shoes and outdoor shoes.
  • Bring your own drum if you have one.
  • Bring along a singing bowl and any invocational instrument you use.

The Schedule

The actual convention will start on Friday, February 18th at 10:00 a.m. with the first seminar and end on Sunday the 20th, at 5:00 p.m. There will be a dinner for people who are not leaving before Sunday night.

We suggest that you arrive in Ibiza on Thursday evening, since the orientation procedure will take place on Friday morning. You can sleep at the convention lodgings and there will be something to eat on site Thursday evening with no additional charge. The convention space will be closed on Monday morning and made ready for other purposes.

Let us know the time and place of your arrival so that you can be met by staff who will see that you arrive at your lodgings in one piece.

The Economics of the Convention

Workshop – 3 full days $125

On site lodging – 4 nights (17.2. 6 p.m. – 21.2. 10a.m.) $65

Food for 3 days (3 meals a day) $65

Transportation to and from the harbour/airport $5

  • Due to the fact that we can only house 30 people at the convention site, the first 30 people to register will get the special price of $260 for the whole event (workshops, lodging and meals)

After these 30 places are taken, the charges will be only for workshops, food and transportation = $200. Additional convention participants will have to be responsible for their own accommodations outside of the convention area. Therefore please make sure that you book as early as possible. Staying on-site lends to the convention experience the special »workshop flavour« and guarantees an even stronger impact and being-learning-experience.

Additional accommodation

For all the convention participants, who will not be able to stay at the convention site over night, there is a simple country hostel nearby. For enquiries please contact: David Pedraja at: 0034- 600264781

Children

We welcome parents with children – however, the workshops will generally not be suitable for children. Parents who plan to come with children, should get in touch with us beforehand to plan for childcare during the seminars and workshop and for special accommodation and dietary needs (of course, there will be pasta . . .)

The price for children is:

Food and accommodation $45 + $45 = $90

The number of children we can take care of is limited. Child care arrangements must be made in advance , please contact:

Fax (+49) 221 972 6646

Please make out the Eurocheque in Euros (Euro1 = $1), so that we will have no trouble converting it to the local currency – Pesetas. In case you have any doubts or questions, or you are unsure how much you have to pay, if you are a couple, have children, are a group, or need a scholarship, please call Matthias Schossig at the above addresses, or David and Romanie at: (+34) 60 026 8842 (mobile), or email: davidac@ctv.es. If you prefer, you can also send the Eurocheque directly to Ibiza – please use FedEx document service (the postal service in this area is not very reliable) and send to:

Special Arrangements

Special economic arrangements are available for groups & couples. Our philosophy is: first, we should never let money stand between ourselves and our opportunities for approaching the Work; in a similar vein, we at IDHHB would never allow a temporary shortfall of funds to keep someone from attending; therefore scholarships are available. In the end, you always get only what you pay for, and this applies even more so when dealing with work on self. For more information in regard to these special payment schedules, please contact:
