Transformation

You are what you are due to an electrical affinity between your essential self and the particular electrical field of your human biological machine. Essentially, this is what is meant by the word "karma".

The basis, the deepest pree of the Work, is that the human biological machine is able to provide the wherewithal for the transformation of the essential self. If it couldn't, what the hell would we be doing in it anyway?

The real answer to the above question is that we are not really IN the machine at all. If we were totally in it, then it would indeed act as a transformational apparatus.

Most people think of the machine as a three-dimensional form. In reality it is a four-dimensional evolutionary tunnel through the Creation, something which they forgot to tell us about when we were youngsters, and all our teachers were extremely busy with and interested in cramming our heads with useless information. So it goes.

Something enters in one end of the machine and comes out the other end totally different. Do you get the picture? Raw material enters the factory, goes through a series of processes, and at the other end comes out as something totally changed. Same thing as in any factory where at one end you put in, say a derivative of crude petroleum, and at the other end, through the wonders of chetry, a shirt comes out, of course after having passed through a series of transformational processes.

So the machine is a three dimensional object, but at the same time it's a four-dimensional corridor, a factory, in which at one end a raw product, the unformed soul, enters, goes through a series of transformational processes, and comes out again at the other end, a finished product, that is IF the factory has been functional.

The aim of "working on yourself" is to bring the factory into this functional state. Most factories are turned off. They don't operate, so the raw material enters at one end and comes out at the other end completely unchanged. The human biological machine literally exists as a transformational factory for the soul. In future, if anyone asks you what you are doing here, you can at least respond intelligently. That's where the word "sin" comes into the picture: it's a genuine sin to not turn on the factory and have it be operative.

The human biological machine is in reality a path, a corridor, a tunnel through the Creation; the act of passing through the tunnel is what creates the grand illusion of time and space. A series of events is not time, and should not provide a sense of time. Each event should be isolated in and of itself, something which we would be capable of doing if we were genuinely present in the present. An event itself contains no notion of time. The illusion of time is produced by stringing all these events together, going from one to the other. Each moment is only momentary. If you were able to change your vision of time, each event would extend into an almost infinite dimension. When consciousness is speeded up, time slows down; things appear to move more slowly than usual.

The activities of your machine and its path through the Creation are completely frozen, not one thing about it can be changed. The entire Creation itself is also unalterable. The machine is not following a path, the machine IS the path. How could you take another path? You are the path of the machine. The machine's activities from birth to death are a path. The machine cannot change. It is locked in.

Imagine walking through a ten metre high snowdrift. You go through it to the other side. You turn around and you look back at the "path" which you have just made through the drift. That, which you are looking at is the human machine, not what passed through. What passed through is the "soul", the essential self. The way in which you managed to get from one side to the other, that's the machine. The machine is hollow, not solid. It's a path. This is the four-dimensional vision of the human biological machine. In three dimensions you will see it making the path, no doubt you will think about changing the path. But you can't. That's the path which the machine was designed to take, the one it always takes. You actually saw the path and its evolutionary result before you even entered into the path; you saw the product it would be capable of producing.

But the machine also gives its own shape to the soul. What is happening is that you, the essential self, have slowly but surely assumed the form of the machine. While you are walking the  path, little by little you assume the shape. You go native. You actually think that this is your tribe and your homeland, adopting all the customs and tics. The essential self has assumed, not only the shape, but also all of the psychological implications, all the attitudes, habits, activities, aims and goals of a man. If the factory were operative, you would come out --you came out-- without any organic habits, but in the shape of a man. You were able to be IN the world, but not OF the world.

You do not remain in the shape of a man forever. If the factory has been turned on during the experience of being a man, then the experience can be used. While you were a man you have knowledge, but if the machine is not functional as an instrument for transformation, this knowledge dies when you recover your real shape; the essential self is a shapeless amorphous blob which can assume any shape. If the machine were turned on, all the accumulated knowledge would remain --remains-- in the special form called "understanding".

If the electrical transformational force "takes" inside of us, it changes us, it transforms us so we keep the knowledge and the attributes; we will never forget what it was like to be a man, but this will only happen if we passed through something which was alive, something living, something which had an electrical effect on us. If we passed through something dead, something cold, some lifeless dark thing, it will never take, because the electrical effect has been absent.

So the essential self assumes the attributes of the machine, even in a lifeless machine, but when we leave it, nothing has happened to the soul, transformation has not taken place and knowledge is not electrically transferred to the essential self. If it has passed through something alive, it will never lose what it has gained.

So, what is it exactly that is being changed? What is it that is being transformed? Not the machine. It is YOU that is being changed. The machine is only the factory, it cannot be changed. The raw material which comes into the factory is changed, not the factory. In the lives of most people, through their innate dissatisfaction and unhappiness with who they are, they wish to change the machine and its manifestations, and there are lots of offers out there to do just that, including many so-called "spiritual" paths. That is, the majority of people work to change their machines, to enhance the effect they have on others. On the other hand, it is the machine itself which can change us. That is, we, who walk on this path of genuine transformation, work instead to be changed BY the machine.

One thing is impossible, the other possible. One is useless, the other useful. One dies at the moment of death, the other lives forever. The human machine will die in the sense that we will pass out of it, we will leave at the other end, out the anus of the machine, but the effect of the machine will live with us, due to the fact that we have been shaped by the energy and been given form, the experience will not die. The trick is to turn on the machine.

So we arrive at the only real question:

Is the factory functional or not?
